Event Recap

When does the event start?
10:00 AM on Sunday, September 13, 2009. Teams will be able to check in starting at 9:30 AM.

Where is the start location?
Chapman Square. Meet us near The Promised Land.

Where should I park my car?
The Smart Park garage at 1st and Jefferson is one block away from Chapman Square, and charges $5 to park all day on weekends. We encourage you to carpool or use public transit. All clue locations will be within Fareless Square.

How long will the event last?
DASH will end at 4:30 PM. At that time, all teams still in the field should start heading toward the end party!

Is there an entry fee?
Yes—$30 per team, regardless of team size. (We believe you'll have the most fun with 3-4 players on a team, but we'll accept any team of at least 2 and up to 6 people.)

Could the event sell out?
Possibly. We're limiting participation to 25 teams.

I want to play, but those sample puzzles are HARD! What if I need help?
We want everyone who plays in the DASH to have fun. Hint envelopes will come with every puzzle. If a puzzle looks too difficult, open one of the envelopes right away. Otherwise, wait until you feel stuck. We encourage everyone to take hints, unless it would ruin their fun!

What if the hints don't help?
You'll get an emergency number in your starting packet. If a team needs help, and the hints don't help, that's an emergency. Give us a call. We'll give you a nudge. If a team stops having fun, that's an emergency. Give us a call and say "We're not having fun anymore." We'll direct you to the next location so you can continue playing!

Sounds great! How do I sign up?
Pay the entry fee online by September 10th. After your payment is complete, we will contact you by e-mail to get your team name and roster of players. Sorry! Registration is now closed.

That's it? No other paperwork?
Every player will need to sign a liability and photo release waiver. We'll send you more details after you sign up.

Wait a minute—"liability waiver?" Are you going to make us do something dangerous?
We will not ask you to do anything dangerous, illegal, or more physically strenuous than walking. Nevertheless, accidents can happen.

Will it rain during the event?
It's possible. You should check the weather, then dress and plan accordingly.

Can I register on the day of the event?
Sorry, no. We need to know ahead of time how many teams are playing so we can build enough puzzles for everyone.

Who is the Portland DASH Game Control?
Portland DASH GC is Curtis Chen and DeeAnn Sole of Team Snout.

I have another question.
E-mail [email protected] and we'll do our best to answer it!
