What is DASH?
DASH (Different Area--Same Hunt) is a one-day, walking puzzle hunt which takes place in several cities across the country on the same day. The next DASH happens on Saturday, April 24th, 2010.
What is a puzzle hunt?
A puzzle hunt (or "treasure hunt") is a fun, interactive event in which teams of players race to find and solve creative puzzles hidden in different locations. You may have heard of "The Game." By comparison, DASH is a shorter event, takes place entirely on foot, and features easier puzzles.
How much does it cost?
$30 per team.
How do I register?
Registration is now closed.
How big does a team need to be?
Teams can be anywhere from 2 to 6 players, but the recommended team size is 4 players. The entry fee will cover all players on the team.
What kind of puzzles will we be solving?
You can find last year's puzzles (and solutions) on this web site.
How do I sign up?
You will need to sign up in advance of the event. We will announce more details soon. If you would like to be contacted when these details become available, express your interest in an email to bos@playDASH.org.
What happens if it rains?
You'll get wet.
No, seriously, what happens if it rains?
Seriously, you'll get wet. Bring gear appropriate for Boston weather.
I hear there's going to be a special clue for DASH 2. Is that true???
Yes, in fact, it is!
Part of what makes DASH exciting, is that you will be participating in a hunt along with hundreds of other teams in ten cities at roughly the same time. Therefore, we would like to introduce an experimental, optional, interactive piece to the hunt that would require someone from your team to use Twitter. Keep in mind, this is external to the actual hunt but just another way to have fun with other teams while you are playing.
In order to participate you will want to:
- Follow our Twitter account: @playdash
- Tweet to @playdash your city, your team name, (and optionally, your favorite tv show) and add the tag: #playdash to your tweet
- Once you search for #playdash you will be able to see who is participating. We encourage you to follow at least one team from each city.
I want to play, but don't have a team. What should I do?
Post a message on the DASH Puzzle Forum For Team Matching and see if anyone has a spot.
